Barks

Ideal for those borders where weeds are prevalent and access is difficult, wood mulch will protect your soil from frost, but retain the moisture during long periods of hot weather and is an ideal weed suppressant when laid at an average depth of 80mm. Simply level and rake over the area required and leave the mulch to do its job.

Ornamental Bark is our premium mixed bark product. It is FSC certified consisting of 15-35mm particle size.This product will protect your roots during periods of heavy rain, stopping soil erosion but also will help retain moisture during long periods of hot weather.

For maximum benefit, this product should be laid at a depth of about 50mm, blanketing any opportunity for weed growth and ideally giving longevity of 3 – 4 years. Delivered to your door, ready to lay, please use within 6 months of delivery for the best performance.

Maintenance

Both of our barks will need topping up over time. As they are naturally product you do not need to lift any existing material as it will naturally decompose over time enriching the soil below.

Playsafe Hardwood Chippings are our popular play areas product ideal for domestic and commercial use. Playsafe certified BS EN 1177 and graded to 10-30mm particle size. Providing the pinnacle in performance and safety, they cushion falls and contain no colours or dues or chemicals. Due to their light colour, they are aesthetically pleasing and are also a great alternative to play bark. They are also a popular and natural solution to pathways ,garden beds, borders and landscapes as they are long- lasting and easy to lay. Allow around 10% for settlement after 30 days.

Maintenance

It is important to lay the playsafe chippings at the correct depth to allow the material to perform at it’s best. Therefore this product will require topping up. Over time the bottom layer will naturally decompose but if it becomes too hard or compact the safest option would be to replace the area with new playsafe hardwood chippings.
