Topsoil and Composts

Topsoil is a vital element of any garden as it provides all the nutrients a plant needs to survive. Here at DFL we are renowned for our premium quality topsoil, also known locally as best sandy loam topsoil, sourced from the sugar beet fields of East Anglia. Among some of the best topsoils available in the country it is ideal for healthy lawn-establishment, planting, growing fruit and vegetables within your gardening and landscaping projects.

We also have lower grades of soils for different jobs within the garden or landscape. Our Contract soil is a great, economic soil screened down to 20mm. It is ideal for turfing; leveling the ground and other soil addition jobs around the garden.

Our most economic soil, ‘As Dug’ is perfect for filling holes and bulking out subsoil areas. This then makes the area suitable to apply our best sandy loam topsoil.

Compost is a blend of decomposed matter such as grass clippings, leaves and garden waste. Our best selling 10mm planting compost provides many essential nutrients and introduces valuable organisms to the soil thus allowing for the best results in your garden and vegetable patch.

Mushroom Compost has a very high organic matter content and is very good for growing vegetables in. Improving the soil’s structure, our mushroom compost adds nutrients and allows water retention.
