British certified topsoil bulk bag. This premium quality soil, also known locally as best sandy loam, is sourced from the sugar beet fields of East Anglia from where it is dried and turned until ready for delivery. This soil contains no contaminants and is easily workable, it is stored in dry conditions making it easier to use and is neither reclaimed or screened from site. It is among the best topsoils available in the country and ideal for borders, flower beds and vegetable patches. If you seriously want to grow plants or flowers this is the material you should use.

Delivered in 0.75m bags, it  should be covered when delivered if not being used immediately, used by professional landscapers, this soil will deliver you the results you require.

Our topsoil works well when mixed with our 10mm organic planting compost, mushroom compost, horticutural grit and westerham sand.

What is topsoil

Topsoil is the upper, outermost layer of soil, usually the top 5–10 inches (13–25 cm). It has the highest concentration of organic matter and microorganisms and is where most of the Earth‘s biological soil activity occurs. Topsoil is composed of mineral particles, organic matter, water, and air. Organic matter varies in quantity on different soils. The strength of soil structure decreases with the presence of organic matter, creating weak bearing capacities. Organic matter condenses and settles in different ways under certain conditions, such as roadbeds and foundations. The structure becomes affected once the soil is dehydrated. Dehydrated topsoil volume substantially decreases and may suffer wind erosion
